Dirk W. Dolbeare, MD is a Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon. He returns to Boulder Orthopedics after completing his residency at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Before attending medical school, Dr. Dolbeare obtained his Masters in Physical Therapy and practiced in New York, Boston and at Boulder Orthopedics. To broaden his orthopedic skills and give his patients complete and comprehensive care, he aspired to orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Dolbeare earned his Masters of Physical Therapy from Boston University and his Medical Degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his Internship in General Surgery at the University of Arkansas and his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia.
Dr. Dolbeare is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Medical Association and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He is also a delegate for the Colorado Medical Society. He is currently Orthopedic Advisor for the Bryant Mountain Ski Patrol and for the Boulder Rugby Athletic Club.
Dr. Dolbeare has been the team physician for the Richmond Braves minor league baseball team and the Virginia Commonwealth University men’s and women’s basketball teams. He was also a physical therapist for the New York Knicks. He has served as a physician for high school football teams for Richmond Public Schools. Dr. Dolbeare spends his spare time hiking, back-country skiing and mountaineering with his wife and three sons.
