Foot Scan Analysis via The MetaScan System™
The MetaScan System™ provides a barefoot analysis of the distribution of pressure across the foot. This innovative technology provides data to support a diagnosis and help formulate treatment. The MetaScan System™ serves several functions, from basic foot screenings and monitoring of rehabilitation progress to recommending orthotics or special footwear. To participate in the study, you simply stand or walk on the mat and a computer processes the data.

Orthotics
Boulder Orthopedics & Boulder Orthopedics Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine provides custom made orthotics for individual needs. Orthotics are devices that are worn to help correct abnormal foot biomechanics, relieve pain and minor foot problems, or improve function, such as walking. Orthotics come in standard sizes or are custom designed from a mold of your foot or The MetaScan System™ discussed above. Our licensed physical therapists are well qualified to assess the indications for orthotics. The therapist combines biomechanical assessments, foot scan or casting and video analysis to order the orthotic appropriate for the client. Our goal is a comfortable fitting orthotic controlling mechanics and aiding the client in return to functional independence and athletics.

Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation is used to help relieve the tension in ligaments, deep tissues, joints, and organs in the body. Occasionally, surgical procedures, inflammation, or disease causes adhesions that prevent normal movements. Lack of motion can lead to imbalances and restrictions that contribute to pain. During visceral manipulation, physical therapists gently apply deep manual movements to encourage normal motion and tone. Our expertise in visceral manipulation enables us to uniquely and comprehensively address even the most challenging orthopedic issues.

Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT)™
Integrative Manual Therapy (IMT)™ is based on the philosophy that the body is composed of interrelated systems. The focus of IMT is on diagnosing and treating a body system, such as the muscle system, instead of focusing on separate specific body parts. With IMT, health is viewed holistically and includes a variety of elements, such as nutritional considerations and specific IMT hands on techniques.

Core Stability Programs
Core stability programs are an integral part of any rehabilitation, preventative health, or performance enhancement program. Core stability programs focus on increasing the strength and stability of the trunk. Good control of the trunk not only decreases stress on the joints of the spine but also the other joints in the hips, ankles, shoulders, and knees. Core stability can be achieved with a variety of physical therapy exercises including the popular Swiss Ball exercises and Pilates. Core stability programs can improve balance, posture, and agility and are an integral part of a rehabilitation program or sports training.
